Part Two - The British are Coming!

Our
trip started off in the British Invasion section, by the
Roadies Stunt Show Theater. While the frame has been up
for a couple of months, workers continued to weld around
us. I could imagine the seats filled with guests, gasping
at the stunts and pyrotechnics on stage. With the catwalks
in place, I could almost see the lights that will spotlight
the performers in this incredible live show.
Next
to the theater plenty of work was going on around the site
for Maximum RPM!, a rollercoaster with a Ferris wheel style
lift system. One of the retail buildings, next to the site,
was already up and I could picture the industrial look this
building will don. It won't be long before we see the first
pieces of the coaster raised.
As we
approached the Punk
Pit building, faces stared back at us. No, not the construction
crew, but the building themselves. Several parts of the
building's windows and doors resemble faces complete with
nose rings and eyebrow piercings. All are decked out and
painted down to little details like cracks in the paint
and one painted as the British flag.
Just
across from the Punk
Pit, the Carnaby Street Café is undergoing its
own massive construction.
We'd
come back through British Invasion on our return trip for
