Break
out the cowboy boots and prepare for some southern style!
The next stop on our tour brings us to Cool Country. As
we enter the area, first up would be the site of Midnight
Rider, an abandoned mine themed coaster. All of the footers
are in and foundation supports are ready to hold up the
track which was delivered last week. Like the Shake, Rattle
and Rollercoaster, the track layout was easily visible so
we can envision its mine car zipping along. This area was
bursting with activity and we should expect to see the coaster
assembled very soon.
The
Wheel House Canteen
is coming along quite nicely, as the canal is currently
being installed on the side of the building. We also noticed
some detail work in the form of a rock wall at the base
where the mill wheel will be. Personally, I can't wait for
to see the mill wheel, which is sitting at the front of
the park, spinning as water rushes through the blades. The
backside deck hangs over the lagoon and will provide an
excellent view of the park's show. Yes, we said show.
More on that later.
I didn't
expect to see much as we passed the area for Just a Swingin',
but a couple of workers were assembling wood frames for
the attraction's footer. For all you die-hard fans out there,
you're already well aware that you can see this section
best through the Hard Rock Park's web cam.
Rock-a-Billy
BBQ is framed up nicely. If you imagine hard enough, you
can almost smell the ribs drenched in BBQ sauce.
Off
in the distance, the Country on the Rocks Theater, home
to the Country on Ice Show, is still getting its external
makeover. We did not travel inside as construction was heavy.
But I can tell you that inside shouldn't require too much
work. This used to be the old Ice Castle Theater where Nancy
Kerrigan performed in an ice show. I remember years ago
seeing her perform here. She fell two times during the show
and no one ran out to hit her in the leg with a lead pipe.
Ah, memories.
Anyway,
I said my goodbyes to Cool Country for now and headed to
where it will all begin. This would be one of the highlights
of the tour.
