"Le
Grande Cirque Astounds and Amazes"
by Discover Myrtle Beach
Simply put
awe-inspiring. There is no better way
to describe Le Grande Cirque, which runs at the Palace
Theatre in Myrtle Beach. In the several years Le Grande
Cirque has been playing, it was not until recently that
we finally took in this show to see what it was all about.
After seeing it we can only say to ourselves, "What
the heck were we waiting for?"
From the moment the curtain rises, you are instantly
engulfed in a spectacular array of sight and sound. The
energy of the performers and the sharpness of each act
is absolutely remarkable.
Many may compare Le Grande Cirque with a certain other
Cirque-named show in Downtown Disney, Orlando. For us
we'd honestly choose Le Grande Cirque in Myrtle Beach.
For comparison, Cirque Du Solei, while entertaining, lacks
many features we expected to see (yes we have seen it).
Le Grande Cirque, on the other hand, surpassed every expectation.
The show was tighter, funnier, and the crowd gasped louder
as the show played out.
Acrobats, contortionists, dancers, and host of other
performers each bring a piece of magic to Le Grande Cirque
that we have not seen in a long time.
Dizzy the clown brings a personal element as he incorporates
the entire audience into the show, as well as a select
number of "singled-out" guests. Plus, this "clown"
holds his own with the other acrobats in the show.
The sound of laughter from the children in the audience
will really get going when a completely hilarious dog
and cat act takes center stage. This is a special part
of the show that every child will enjoy.
Each and every costume, as well as the music, actually
become their own characters in the show and heighten the
majesty of Le Grande Cirque.
With a running time of two hours, Le Grande Cirque is
without a doubt, a must see, when in Myrtle Beach. While
we made the mistake of waiting to see the show, we advise
any visitor to Myrtle Beach, as well as residents, to
come out to the Palace Theatre for a dazzling show that
will stay with you long after the curtain falls.
